Affimerce Indicators: Opportunity Score

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Affimerce Opportunity Score is a proprietary multi-factor fundamental research framework designed to standardize company fundamentals into an objective scoring system for evaluating both business quality and market valuation.

The objective is not to predict short-term stock price movements, but to provide investors with a structured framework for comparing companies and identifying situations where strong business fundamentals and attractive valuations may coexist.

  • Affimerce Opportunity Score is provided for educational and research purposes only. It is not financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or a guarantee of future performance.
  • Review company quality, valuation, growth, and risk in one dashboard.
  • Compare stocks using a consistent research framework.

How to use the indicator?

The Affimerce Opportunity Score transforms multiple financial dimensions into a standardized scoring framework.

It is designed to evaluate business quality and valuation independently before combining them into a single Opportunity Score ranging from 0 to 100.

  • 80–100: Strong
  • 65–79: Above Average
  • 50–64: Neutral
  • Below 50: Weak

Higher scores indicate a stronger combination of business quality and valuation according to the Affimerce research framework.

  • Financial Score highlights balance sheet and financial strength.
  • Profitability Score summarizes margin quality, returns, and consistency.
  • Growth Score helps users review business momentum over time.
  • Total Quality Score combines core business quality signals into one view.
  • Valuation Score shows whether the stock appears relatively expensive or attractive based on valuation context.
  • Opportunity Score combines quality and valuation into a single high-level opportunity view.
  • Bankruptcy Risk gives a quick risk-status label based on financial risk indicators.
  • Financial Data as of shows the most recent financial data date available on the chart.

This indicator is built around six core scores:

Financial Score

It evaluates the company’s financial stability, balance-sheet quality, liquidity, leverage, cash-flow sustainability, capital structure, and shareholder discipline.

The Financial Strength Engine incorporates multiple financial indicators, including metrics related to cash flow, leverage, liquidity, capital efficiency, and shareholder dilution.

Profitability Score

It measures the company’s ability to consistently generate sustainable profits and shareholder returns.

The Profitability Engine evaluates multiple profitability metrics, including margins, returns on capital, and long-term earnings consistency.

Growth Score

It evaluates both the quality and direction of business growth rather than focusing solely on historical growth rates.

The Growth Engine analyzes multiple indicators related to revenue, earnings, operating performance, cash-flow quality, and business momentum.

Total Quality Score

The Financial Strength, Profitability, and Growth engines are combined into a customizable Total Quality Score.

By default, the Total Quality Score is calculated using 40% Financial Strength, 40% Profitability, and 20% Growth.

Users may adjust the relative weighting of each quality component to better match different investment styles.

Missing financial fields do not automatically reduce a company’s score.

Instead, the framework dynamically adjusts the maximum possible score using only the financial data available for each company.

Valuation Score

Assesses whether the current market valuation appears attractive relative to both the company’s underlying business quality and its own historical valuation profile.

The Valuation Engine combines multiple valuation measures with historical valuation context to evaluate whether current pricing appears reasonable.

Opportunity Score

The final Opportunity Score combines Quality and Valuation using a geometric relationship:

Opportunity Score = √(Quality Score × Valuation Score)

Unlike a simple arithmetic average, this methodology requires both business quality and valuation to perform reasonably well.

A high-quality company with an extremely expensive valuation will not receive an exceptionally high Opportunity Score.

Likewise, a deeply discounted company with poor financial quality will also receive a lower score.

The framework is designed to identify companies where business quality and valuation are aligned, rather than rewarding only one dimension.

Please note that it is NOT a buy or sell signal, but it helps users quickly identify which stocks may warrant deeper research.

The goal is not to replace your judgment. The goal is to make your first-pass research faster, cleaner, and more repeatable, and more importantly, directly in your TradingView dashboard.

  • Long-term investors comparing multiple stocks.
  • Traders who want fundamental context directly on the chart.
  • Researchers looking for a repeatable quality-and-valuation framework.
  • TradingView users who prefer dashboard-style indicators instead of scattered notes.

How to customize the settings?

To set up Affimerce Opportunity Score, open the indicator settings in TradingView and go to the Inputs tab.

You can also customize the dashboard colors, including the cell background, header background, text color, border color, and the colors used for strong, neutral, and weak readings.

These options help you fit the indicator into your chart layout without changing the core scoring logic, unless you choose to adjust the score weights.
